Yup, we did it, the Downieville Downhill. Met a couple of Bay Area Thrill Seekering buddies for one hell of a good ride. I think my GPS said we went something like 16 miles, almost all of it screaming down some mountain side, death lingering at any moment (maybe not death but definitely a skinned knee or something else horrible). Did we work for it? Nope. Did we slowly grind our way to the top, one painstaking pedal stroke after another? Not a chance. We paid money, hopped in some van with about a dozen other lazy, gravity entitled so called "mountain bikers", and relaxed all the way to the top, and it was awesome.
(The Rad Roaming Radish himself monster truckin' over some little jump)
(Nothing but smiles, and cramped fingers...)
(Totes!)
After all that epicness packed into a few short hours, we headed East.
Next stop, Jackson Hole, WY for some Yellowstone sight seeing, whiskey drinking, wildlife hollering, and even some lift assisted mountain shredding...
P.S. I think I'm gonna try and add some helpful links at the end of each post, just in case other Rad Radishes out there are looking to shred some of the dirty goodness mentioned on this humble yet epic blog, so here we go-
Downieville Outfitters- Solid shop and they offer shuttles for like $20 and they must drive up there like 400 times a day
http://www.downievilleoutfitters.com/Yuba Expiditions- More shuttle goodness for all the lazy bikers out there
